History
The Aldersgate United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas was officially created on May 25, 1932, by a merger of two historic Methodist Churches, namely, the Hackberry Street and the Denver Heights. The Hackberry Street Church, organized in the fall of 1873, was the second oldest Methodist Church in San Antonio. The Denver Heights Church was organized in 1894.
On June 8, 1952, the Aldersgate United Methodist Church had its Official Opening and moved into the first two units of its new building, valued at $175,000 at the corner of Kayton and Palmetto Streets.
